A loving gesture to his wife by a Singaporean, has turned out to be a lucky move as well. Mr Teo Teck Seng, a 39-year-old manager, has been picked as the June 2011 monthly winner for the ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ Draw after purchasing a pair of diamond earrings for his wife.
Shoppers at Orchard Road were today greeted by an astonishing sight of four aerialists perched on four-metre high poles performing to the beat of classical music. The performance was choreographed to precision by Strange Fruit, a world-renowned Australian performing arts company which brought further excitement of being a ‘Changi Millionaire’ to the heart of Orchard Road, at Ngee Ann City.
Singapore Changi Airport today unveiled Ms Lira Wilson, a 47-year-old Filipina working in Melbourne, Australia as the first and May finalist for its ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ shopping promotion this year. The inaugural Changi Millionaire Draw, which was held in January this year, had six finalists – all men.
Changi Airport will welcome the arrival of Taiwanese carrier TransAsia Airways to Singapore, with the airline’s commencement of a daily Taipei-Singapore service. Including TransAsia Airways, six carriers will operate a total of 60 weekly services linking Singapore to Taipei. The others are Taiwan’s China Airlines and Eva Air, and Singapore-based Jetstar Asia, Singapore Airlines and Tiger Airways.
Singapore Changi Airport handled 3.77 million passenger movements in May 2011, an 11.3% increase compared to May 2010. Aircraft movements during the month totalled 24,994, a 12.8% increase year-on-year, and an all-time monthly record for Changi Airport.
Singapore Changi Airport today welcomed the arrival of Finnair to Singapore. Finnair will operate daily non-stop flights between Singapore and Helsinki, Changi’s first new European route since the launch of Lufthansa’s Singapore-Munich service in June 2008.
