Operating Indicators for July 2019

SINGAPORE, 23 Aug 2019 – Singapore Changi Airport registered 5.91 million passenger movements in July 2019, 3.3% higher than the same period last year. Aircraft movements dipped 1% to 32,400 landings and takeoffs, while airfreight throughput declined 7.2% to 170,000 tonnes for the month.

For the month of July, all regions except for South Asia recorded growth. Germany, Korea, New Zealand and the United States of America were among top markets that registered double digit growth, while traffic to India and the United Kingdom declined. Among Changi’s top routes, Shanghai (+12%) and Brisbane (+12%) were the fastest growing.

As at 1 August 2019, more than 120 airlines operate at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to some 380 cities in about 100 countries and territories worldwide. With more than 7,400 weekly scheduled flights, an aircraft takes off or lands at Changi roughly once every 80 seconds.

Other highlights at Changi*

New Services – Vistara, a new carrier at Changi Airport, launched its first international flight to Singapore on 6 August[1]. The airline operates daily services to Delhi and Mumbai.

New Restaurants & Stores – In the public areas, three new stores have commenced operations at T3 B2. They are fashion accessories shop Mixshop, massage chair operator Rest N Go Exclusive Lounge and homegrown wine retailer 8 by Bottles & Bottles.

In the transit areas, a host of fashion brands – Bottega Veneta (T3), Longchamp (T3), MCM (T3), and Prada (T1) have opened new stores. Irvins Salted Egg, renowned for its salted egg yolk snacks, has also opened its third airport outlet at T3.
