The first finalist to emerge in Changi Airport’s third run of the ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ retail promotion is a female engineer from Shanghai, China. Ms Pan Lizhu (潘丽珠), 35, purchased two new iPads at Changi Airport in June – a deal that not only stretched her dollar but clinched for her a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win a million dollars.

World’s largest kinetic art sculpture unveiled at Changi Airport

Kinetic Rain, the world's largest kinetic art sculpture, was officially unveiled today. The sculpture takes pride of place at Terminal 1's Departure Check-in Hall and it is installed as part of the terminal's upgrading project. The refurbished T1 is aptly themed ‘Tropical City’ in keeping with Singapore’s garden city status and where rain, is very much a part of the tropical climate.

Singapore Changi Airport managed 4.28 million passenger movements in March 2012, representing the highest number of passengers ever handled at Changi during the month of March. Passenger traffic for the month increased 15.3% year-on-year, in tandem with the increase in aircraft movements which grew 10.6% to 27,000. Airfreight movements decreased 1.8% to 163,000 tonnes during the month.

Passenger traffic at Changi Airport increased 11.2% to 3.77 million in February 2012. There was strong travel demand across all regions with traffic between Singapore and the Middle East growing by more than 20%. Other regions also grew by double digits. Aircraft landings and take-offs increased 13.1% to 24,900 flights, corresponding with the growth in passenger traffic.
