Changi Airport Group appoints main construction contractor for first package of works to effect three-runway operations

SINGAPORE, 22 October 2015 – Changi Airport Group (CAG) announced today that it has awarded a S$1.12 billion contract to a joint venture formed by Samsung C&T Corporation and Koh Brothers (“the JV”), for the first package of works relating to the development of a three-runway system at Singapore Changi Airport. The award follows a competitive tender which saw participation from 10 tenderers.

Singapore Changi Airport to welcome world’s first Star Wars™ themed plane by ANA

Operating Indicators for August 2015

Passenger traffic at Singapore Changi Airport grew 6.6% year-on-year in August 2015, with 4.96 million passengers passing through the airport. Air traffic movements also grew, with a total of 29,610 landings and take-offs recorded during the month, or 4.4% more compared to a year ago.

AirBridgeCargo Airlines debuts at Singapore Changi Airport with direct freighter flights from Moscow

Changi Airport Group (CAG) welcomes AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) to Singapore Changi Airport, with its inaugural flight from Moscow, Russia. The international freighter carrier, which is part of Russia-based Volga-Dnepr Group, is launching twice-weekly Moscow-Singapore-Hong Kong-Moscow services with a Boeing 747-8F aircraft.

Operating Indicators for July 2015

Singapore Changi Airport handled some 4.89 million passenger movements in July 2015, an uplift of 6.8% from last year, registering the highest year-on-year growth in monthly passenger traffic so far this year. In tandem, flight movements rose 4.3% to 29,400. During the month, 147,500 tonnes of airfreight were processed at Changi, a 4.8% decrease on-year.

Polar Air Cargo Worldwide launches new freighter service to Singapore

Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, Inc. (Polar), a leading scheduled freighter carrier based in the United States, landed its inaugural flight at Singapore Changi Airport yesterday. This adds to Changi’s freighter network a new city link to Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Polar will operate a weekly Cincinnati–Anchorage–Incheon–Singapore–Hong Kong service with the B747F aircraft.

Operating Indicators for June 2015

Passenger traffic at Singapore Changi Airport increased 1.0% in June 2015, with 4.70 million passengers passing through the airport. This was Changi Airport’s busiest month so far this year. In terms of flight movements, a total of 28,530 aircraft landings and take-offs were recorded during the month, a growth of 1.4% year-on-year.

AirAsia Group, Korean Air and Vietnam Airlines to operate at Changi Airport’s new Terminal 4 in 2017

Changi Airport Group (CAG) today provided an update on the development of Changi Airport’s new Terminal 4 (T4), which is scheduled to commence operations in 2017. Five more airlines – AirAsia Berhad, Indonesia AirAsia, Thai AirAsia, Korean Air and Vietnam Airlines – will operate at T4, joining Cathay Pacific.
